Reduce the cost of your household insurance

Insurance companies recognise that communities that operate a Neighbourhood Watch scheme tend to have a lower crime rate, and often give reduced premiums for household insurance.

When you next renew your household insurance, tell the agent that you live in a Neighbourhood Watch area, and quote the following reference number:

Nash AG53/892

Protect your mobile phone

Did you know that every digital mobile phone has a built-in serial number. If your phone is stolen, you can phone up your network provider (Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile, Orange) and give them this number, and they will then 'excommunicate' it. They will ask you for the following information:

< Fascia details
< Phone number
< PIN
<
 Serial Number

The first three items are easy to find out. To find your mobile's serial number, type in the following and make a note of the 15-digit number:

* # 0 6 #
